  • Five ‘Must Do’ Things in Iceland

There is an endless list of stunning places to explore in Iceland however, here are my absolute top 5 favourites that I got to experience in my week there!

    1. BLUE LAGOON

One of the most picturesque places you think of when you think of exploring Iceland is The Blue Lagoon. Silica face masks, a spa experience and floating around in a geothermal pool is the best way to either start or end your trip in the land of fire and ice.

    2. SKÓGAFOSS

The most popular waterfalls called Skogafoss naturally are at the very top of this ‘must see’ list. You can stand and marvel at the falls at the base or climb up to the top for a different vantage point!

    3. REYNISFJARA BEACH

Black sand beaches, black and grey out of this world rock formations and the most powerful beach waves all found in Reynisfjara! If you’re a Game of Thrones fan then you can explore the fan favourite beach in the middle of the afternoon. Just be super careful of the ‘sneaker waves’ which can be very dangerous and sneak up on you when not paying attention!

    4. FJADRARGLJUFUR CANYON

This is a stunning 2km long canyon and is known to be one the most picturesque spots in all of Iceland. Found between Vik and Skaftafell Park, these are some of the most worth it dramatic views. Make sure to stay on the trails and respect the areas around by sticking to the view point platforms for some amazing shots.

    5. JÖKULSÁRLÓN GLACIER LAGOON & DIAMOND BEACH

This was one of the spots that quite literally didn’t feel like this was part of this world. A lagoon filled with pieces of massive broken glacier floating about and also washing up like diamonds on the shores of the black sand beaches. There is an amazing fusion of blue and black colors in the lagoon and you can even kayak or take a boat ride (weather dependant) out onto the lagoon and get really close to the glacier pieces.
