Having spent a summer catching flights and running around in busy summer streets of European cities, I was super excited to book a Getaway to Paris with one of my closest friends. Honestly, getting from London to Paris is SO smooth and quick that its an amazing idea if you are looking to avoid the airport crowds. In less than three hours, we were in the heart of Paris, getting our Parisian mood on in a bistro right next to our hotel in the heart of the 8th Arrondissement. Oh so fab.
The last time I visited Paris, I stayed in the 8th Arrondissment which (after having explored various areas in the city), is my absolute favourite. We ended up booking a hotel in the same area and it was the best decision ever. You get the best of all worlds: walking distance to the iconic Champs Elysees, you have the Galeries Lafayette right behind you and so much other shopping at your finger tips. I was specifically close to Madeleine station which is super well connected to areas like Le Marais, Tracadero (Tour Eiffel) and Monmartre. It was perfect because these were the areas we planned on spending most of our time in anyway, so getting around Paris was so easy and relaxing.
We spend an entire day shopping and window shopping in the fashionable Marais district. The hustle and bustle of the streets is so charming and it’s filled with small boutique stores all along the streets and areas.
