In late January, Mustafa had a work trip to New York City for 3 weeks and I decided to tag along to catch a little break and change of scenery. The last trip we took together was to Alberta in September (see Banff, Jasper and Canadian Badlands blog posts here), so this was such a welcome change. Although we mostly stayed indoors, it was absolutely lovely to be in a different city and environment after so many months.
Waking up in the new city after so many months felt so refreshing. Even though we weren’t going out for anything other than walks, it was so nice to be able to look out the window and see New York City in all it’s concrete jungle glory. We spent our time in SoHo since we were staying at the SoHo Grand which was fantastic because we had a million food options at all times.
With outdoor dining closed, Door Dash and Uber Eats were our absolute best friends. The best thing about New York is the food. So much food all the time that you will never run out of options. My personal favourite discoveries were Matchaful lattes and oat milk iced coffees for breakfast.
