Self Care Sundays have literally transformed my life. I have never really been a fan of Sundays. I mean don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my precious weekends and try to make the absolute most of them. For some reason, the Sunday blues always hit me hard and over the last few weeks, I realized I really have to be able to turn Sunday routines into something more exciting (or lose my mind completely).
This is where the idea of ‘Self Care Sunday’ comes in. I have a long list of things that fill me with such a relaxed and calm feeling so I have ACTIVELY been trying to turn around my Sunday mood. Speaking of, here is my top things to do:
Give yourself a manicure
There something very calming and soothing when it comes to doing your nails and putting on a classic Netflix show. Best vibe ever.
Read a book
Come rain or shine, grabbing a good book (low key ones like How To Be Parisian: Wherever You Are) and reading in the comfort of your home can really refresh your mind. I love doing this before I go to bed and is something I am to do a lot more of moving forward.
Have a mini home spa session
Steaming, pore strips, scrubs, face masks…basically all the works for cleaning out your skin and prep it for the week of sunscreen and bb cream ahead. I love putting in the extra effort into my skin on a Sunday night and wake up glowing on Monday morning.
Watch a classic movie or show
Anything with Anne Hathaway (my personal and very biased fave), How Harry Met Sally and Gilmore Girls are my personal favourite. Something so calming watching a classic show or movie that makes me feel homey and cosy on a Sunday.
Tea Time
I absolutely love making my cup of English Breakfast tea, getting my lotus cheesecake slice and sitting on my sofa around sunset. I tend to read my favourite blogs, watch YouTube videos while I partake in this little evening bit. So mentally refreshing and it feels like the evening is standing still.
Declutter and Organize
I make such a mess of my dresser and handbag during the week. Sunday is the day when I empty out all the lunch and coffee receipts from my bag, organize the million different lipsticks that somehow accumulate in the span of just 5 working days and organize my wallet. My dresser drawers are also much messier by Sunday which means I map organize all my makeup and skincare.
