If there is one thing I have done almost religiously all summer long, is online shopping. Like…a LOT. But in all honestly, most of it was clothes and jewellery. I didn’t end up buying summer shoes considering I didn’t expect to be leaving the house for anything too exciting for the foreseeable future. That being said, when you see a Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pump in a drop dead gorgeous color your heart skips a beat. It skips multiple beats when you can actually catch a pair on sale and pull the trigger on getting it!
Since I enjoyed photographing and writing a similar review on the YSL LouLou I got a few months ago, I thought this would be a fun nod to my latest glam purchase.
Picking the Perfect Hangisi Heel
Heel
I ended up going for the 105mm heel because let’s be honest, the height when wearing these just looks absolutely fabulous. A very comfortable heel would be around 95mm-70mm, but considering these are super delicate and more of a complete occasion wear piece, opting for the higher heel would be a good option. Still, a lower heel will look just as cute, and I do plan on getting another color in a smaller size at some point.
The sole of the shoe is beautiful, but also very delicate and personally for me, very slippery as well. So I think a quick bit to add on this, will be to get a protective sole at the base of the shoe to give it a little bit of a grip and protection. Adds to the beauty and your general level of confidence even when you walk.
Color
I have a list of shades that I eventually want to accumulate in this Hangisi style. The classic bright blue heel obsession from Sex and the City Days. A classic champagne shade that looks like it melts into my skin color. The list is practically endless. This first time around, I went for the ‘London Grey’ shade. I think it is an absolute classic color and you can pair it will anything and everything. The perfect first pair to start a collection if you wear a lot of black btw.
Price
The Manolo Blahnik Hangisi heels are typically priced at around $1200/£700. This can be a bit steep but there are great sites out there where you can save a little if you catch your size on sale! Keep in mind though, from what I researched, the blue and green shades tend to almost never go on sale because of their esteemed status received by the SATC over 10 years ago. I got my pair from Luisaviaroma. I am actually super impressed with them by the way. They were shipped out from Florence the exact same day that I ordered them. The tracking was excellent because I ordered them on Saturday and they were with me on Monday! Definitely do check them out and keep an eye on their sales because the savings can be excellent!
