  • Weekend in Copenhagen

Walking along Nyhavn, the famous and picture perfect view

Last weekend, Mustafa and I took a quick 48 hour trip to the capital of Denmark: Copenhagen.

Having never been to a Nordic country, I was so excited to spend a weekend in the city doing nothing but walk along the port, have the best coffee and drinks. Copenhagen definitely did not disappoint. It looks like something out of a postcard, full of gorgeous architecture. I personally found it to be very baby Amsterdamish. In a very cute way.

A very quaint and charming city with the perfect touch of European beauty around every corner. I don’t think the charm of a European city will ever fade for me. You spot the most interesting people just enjoying their cappuccino’s while they read a book, a newspaper or just people watch.

    Breakfasting at The Union Kitchen
The best eggs and the BEST coffee

We woke up and made our way to Union Kitchen for breakfast. Such a cosy vibe and delish food. The wait was worth it. If you plan to go here, gotta make sure to go super early (before 10), or be prepared to wait 30+ mins cuz its a popular spot!

Got the best avocado toast, poached egg and once again, the best coffee fix to start our day. Since we were only staying in the city till 2pm, we decided to explore some more on foot. Since it was Sunday, it was even quieter and so peaceful. Such a nice escape from London.

After a short walk and a photography session in Nyhavn, we made our way over to the Denmark Design Museum.

We grabbed another coffee, some pastries at a cute little cafe called ‘Emmerys’, which was just a short walk from Nyhavn. It was the perfect cuppa and I swear, the city is home to some of the best cappuccinos I have ever had.

Getting from the city center to the airport was the simplest and easiest thing ever. Kongens Nytorv is located right in the heart of the city and it has the direct line to the airport within 15 minutes.

Overall, I absolutely loved my weekend in Copenhagen. From having amazing coffee canal side, the city exudes a quiet charm that is so enjoyable to spend a weekend in. It’s the perfect getaway from London for a complete change of scenery and should definitely be on everyone’s list.
